A meteor shower may have hit Odessa many thousands of years ago and left little to be known about it, but this museum near the craters has more info on meteors than you can imagine.

Located at the edge of the Odessa meteor crater, this museum provides a window on those out of this world meteors and meteorites. Though small in size, it is big in information about something most people are curious about.
Actual pieces of meteorites from around the world are on display, almost always accompanied by interesting information about it. Especially fascinating is the display about people being struck by fall meteors, and you need to visit the museum to learn if anyone has ever been killed by a meteorite hitting them.
One display has several iron nickel meteorites, including one from the Odessa strike, where you can use a magnet to see that it really is iron and not just a rock.
Meteorites
Since meteorites vary in their composition they have everything from the beautiful gem type, Pallasite meteorites, to the stone meteorites from North Africa. Once you visit the museum you'll never again look at a meteorite as mere a rock that fell from space.
