Das NordseeMuseum Husum zählt zu den traditionsreichsten Museen an der Westküste Schleswig-Holsteins. Es geht auf die Stiftung Ludwig Nissens zurück (1855-1924), der 1872 von Husum nach New York auswanderte und dort als Diamantenhändler zu Wohlstand und Einfluss kam. Nissen rief eine Stiftung ins Leben und so konnte 1937 das Museum eröffnet werden. Seit dem veranschaulicht das Museum für Einheimische und Gäste die kulturellen Entwicklungen und Traditionen an der Nordseeküste. Flankiert wird dieser Themenbereich von je her durch zahlreiche kunst- und kulturhistorische Sonderausstellungen.
The Nordsee Museum is one of the most traditional museums on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein. It goes back to the Foundation Ludwig Nissen (1855-1924), who emigrated to New York in 1872 by Husum, and there was a diamond dealer to wealth and influence. Nissen called a foundation, and so was 1937, the museum opened. Since the museum shows for locals and visitors the cultural developments and traditions on the North Sea coast.
