GBNB-1 - El Paso County, CO - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This Benchmark is very easy to find if there isn't much snow on the ground. It is identified with the standard Orange Carsonite Witness Post located 12 inches south of the Benchmark.

The concrete monument is still in very good shape for being out in the Colorado weather for (as of this posting) 54 years. It only projects about 4 inches above the surrounding ground.

To get to this Benchmark you can proceed north from the intersection of Powers Blvd. and State Hwy 83 about 700 feet then exit to the west on a No-Naame road. Proceed to the T-Intersection. This intersection is actually at an unused closed section of the old 2-Lane Hwy 83 before it was rebuilt and expanded to 4-Lanes and moved east.

There is plenty of safe parking within 50 feet of this intersection. In the south east corner of the intersection, about 4 feet inside the fence line you will see the witness post.

<sub>Some one has cut the top strand of Barbed Wire (Not Me) so close up access to the Benchmark is very easy.
