This "You Are Here" is located in Fox Run Regional Park at the intersection of a Crossover Trail from one part of the Outer Loop Trail to another section of the same trail.

Fox Run Regional Park is one of my favorite place to go Trail Hiking as the the terrain is fairly gently and you are surrounded by majestic Ponderosa Pines.
The rolling forest loop trails lope through the park which is near Monument and Black Forest. Depending on the weather, it can be a pleasant cross-country ski or a short stroll or bike.
TO GET THERE
North of Colorado Springs, take the Baptist Road exit from Interstate 25. Go east four miles to Roller Coaster Road. Turn right (south) and drive 0.2 miles to a marked trailhead on the right.
THE HIKE
Winter is the best time to enjoy this delightful loop through the pines. Though it usually has snow, it also has enough regular visitors to pack it down. The wide, rolling trail is also ideal for cross-country skiing after a storm.
Start the loop by going right, past the bathrooms. The trail gradually climbs into thick stands of ponderosa pine. The red, scraggly pines are all hikers see for the rest of time. Welcome to the black forest. Fortunately, these trees are anything but monotonous. The orange-barked veterans are twisted into poses that make the forest seem like a sculpture garden. The trail hugs the perimeter of the park, rounding counter-clockwise with several shortcut options across the middle. At each intersection, look for a helpful map. The full outer loop trail is about 5K and takes a bit more than an hour. The inner loop trail is a little over 2K and takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
If these Trail times seem long it is because you can't help but stop along the way to admire the wonders of nature surrounding you.
