"Klondike" Boat

This small wooden boat is a replica of one type used by many of the Klondike stampeders to travel across Lake Bennett and down the Yukon River to the gold fields near Dawson, Yukon Territory, Canada, in the spring and summer of 1898.  The originals were made of hand sawn rough lumber.  One this size would carry two people and their gear.  This boat was made for the Gold Rush Exhibition at the 1998 Alaska State Fair in Palmer.
