It is for the ”Best Community Mural”, which NgAng and Chris Finlayson designed and painted, helped by high school art teacher, Robin Slow, and his students, and 39 volunteers .
In vibrant colours a variety of flora and fauna is painted on a 30 metre wall in the Village green. You will see whales, dolphins, eels, turtles, jelly fish and a variety of small fish swimming around the coral. A backdrop of erupting volcanoes in the moonlight. Native trees and ferns sit on the edge of the river bank. The odd frog and birds such as the pukeko and moa peek out from behind the foliage.
Have a look and see what you can find in this amazing artwork.
