Describe the biological treatment technology used.: The treatment process consists of the following unit operations and processes:
liquid phase: Harrowing 3 mm; increase water flow to 11 mca; removal of sand, oil and grease, physical-chemical treatment and primary settling only a lamellar body; biological treatment with fixed biomass in biofilters, and reserve effluent disinfection for human compatible, by tuning and final discharge outfall with diffusers on the Tagus River.
solid phase: mixed sludge gravity thickening, anaerobic digestion with energy cogeneration; dewatering in centrifuges, stabilization of relief by the addition of lime, sludge storage silo.
Gas phase: treatment of chemical odors by rinsing in two stages in series.
