I had to take the pictures of this monument by focusing through the new boundary fence. The brass cap for this monument is on the Mexico side of the old barb wire fence. The monument is deteriorating because of the limited access created by the new fence. The US Customs and Border Protection Agency staff did stop by and visit with us for some time.

The monument is on the Border between the United States and Mexico in a high human and drug trafficking area. Please use common sense and caution when traveling in this area.
