Pinedale is the county seat of Sublette County, gateway to Jackson Hole to the north and the Wind River Range to the east, and therefore one of the more populous communities in all of western Wyoming. The Museum of the Mountain Man, on the southeast edge of town, provides outstanding exhibits detailing the life and times of the early frontiersman in the area.
