I drive by here often and always thought that this was a DUP memorial. When I finally stopped and took a closer look, I found that it was a citizen memorial for Robert Sherwood. The plaque reads:

Robert Sherwood Park

Bishop Robert Sherwood, January 27, 1858 - August 6, 1942, donated parcels of this land known as Sherwood Forest Addition for purpetual public use on July 12, 1890.

Memorial constructed by Department of Parks and Public Property, Salt Lake City Corporation.

L. C. Romney, Commissioner
Location: Robert Sherwood Park, Salt Lake City, UT
