I drive by here often and always thought that this was a DUP memorial. When I finally stopped and took a closer look, I found that it was a citizen memorial for Robert Sherwood. The plaque reads:
Robert Sherwood Park
Bishop Robert Sherwood, January 27, 1858 - August 6, 1942, donated parcels of this land known as Sherwood Forest Addition for purpetual public use on July 12, 1890.
