This isn't a grand or massive stone arch, or even a graceful torii, but a simple arch of bamboo and handmade letters for a small, remote village in Antique Province on the island of Panay.

The village of Malumpati is at the end of an unpaved road that takes visitors along the north bank of the Bugang River to this area where a natural spring widens out into a beautiful and deep pool. This is also the water supply for the region, and a small power plant is located just beyond the village. There is a trail that leads from here to the headwaters of the Bugang River has won numerous national and international awards as the cleanest inland waterway in the Philippines.

This is not only a popular local attractions, but there are tours from the nearby Phaidon Resort, and even from the internationally renowned beaches of Boracay further away.

Type: Gateway
