While benchmarking, geocaching, and waymarking, we found this old park in the DDO.
This area was originally known as the DDO, or Defense District Ogden, and was operated by the U.S. Army. In 1997 the DDO was transferred to Odgen, Utah.
Since the transfer Odgen has been busily converting the DDO into the BDO but many reminants of the DDO are still present. There is a Bill Bailey street and many of the buildings have a military feel to them. This park was probably enjoyed by many military families on lazy summer afternoons. In addition to huged grassy fields the park has a gazebo, two tennis courts, and a defunct base ball diamond. All that is left of the base ball field is the fence that would have been behind the catcher.
If this park had a name any signs with its original name have probably long since been removed and the name lost in history. If anyone can find the name of the park please record it in your log and I will change the name of the waymark to reflect the name. The park is still well maintained.
