Pioneer H was constructed of unused spare parts from the Pioneer 10 and 11 missions. Originally intended for launch in 1974, the craft would have traveled to Jupiter for a gravitational slingshot launching the craft outside of the elliptic plane. NASA didn't approve of the launch however, and in 1976 Pioneer H was donated to the Smithsonian. Today it hangs in the Pioneers of Flight gallery, labeled as a "replica" and representing it's twin brothers, Pioneer 10 and 11.
