This Charter Oak mural shares a pictorial description of the history of this town, including the Charter Oak tree that gave it its name. It was done by Carl Homstad, an artist whose murals are found in numerous Iowa communities. This painting was done in 1991 to help celebrate the town’s Centennial. It is in the middle of Charter Oak on the north and west walls of the Senior Center.
