Lindbergh State Park, former farm site and childhood home of famed aviator Charles Lindbergh is a treasure trove of WPA projects. In the late 1930's the WPA restored Lindbergh's childhood home after souvenir hunters nearly destroyed it. In additon, they built a water tower, kitchen shelter, trails, steps and these wonderful water fountains that still work. The park issues a WPA walking tour brochure and the brochure features vintage photos of folks in the 1940's enjoying the cool water. There are two of these fountains in the main park area.
