This is the City of Mesa's second cemetery, opened in 1891. The first was closed and its graves moved here. The name Stapley is known for being one of the local pioneer families of Mesa, Arizona, although there is no information about Thomas Stapley. This grave is located in the historic section of the cemetery. It is one of only 2 zinc tombstones in this cemetery.
