Lakeside, like its neighbor Poway, is a city with its feet on the ground and its head in the clouds. The eastern portions of the city lie along California Highway 67 which descends from Ramona in the northeast to El Cajon in the south, dropping from an elevation of over 1800 feet at the northern edge of Poway to around 400 feet in Lakeside.
