President Theodore Roosevelt, on September 24, 1906, proclaimed Devils Tower as a national monument.
At the base of the tower just pass the visitors center is the start of a paved hiking trail. The trail wraps around the base of the tower at different elevations.
The first set of coordinates lead you to the entrance to the trail.
The second are a spot on the trail where you can see grand views of the valley below. On my trip around there were many eagles flying around and two climbers going up the side of the tower.
The third set of coords take you to the back side of the tower where you gave see the geological formations up close.
The trip took us just over an hour and a half to walk through.
