This curvaceous piece of white stone is located at the main entrance to the Nakhon Si Thammarat branch of the Thai national library. Perhaps not surprisingly, the theme of the sculpture is—the benefit of reading. The text on the plinth translates (so I am told) as: reading is good, good for heart, read every day, be smart. Noble sentiments. The library is well designed, with a goodly number of English language books.

One will find the pleasant, small town of Nakhon Si ~700kms south of Bangkok on the long and sinuous Malay peninsular.
