This fine slate bench looks north over Windermere (lake) and is surprising comfortable from this highpoint amongst the bracken.

The area around the seat is open access land with a public footpath coming from the fishery at Ghyll Head where there is parking for several cars. Double tall swing gates lead from the parking along a well used path to the viewpoint and seat.

There is narrow raised wooden walkway through the boggiest bits.

The dedication is "73 Richard's Favourite Spot 04" suggesting that he lived only 31 years.
