Third order vertical mark monumented in 1980. There is, however, no elevation given on the mark or included in the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation database, and the elevation does not appear on a topographic map.
Coordinates are from my hand-held consumer-grade GPS (HH2).
Steel rod cemented into a pipe, projects 8 inches. The location is not suitable for satellite observation.
It is in the northwest quarter of Section 9, Township 35 N, Range 19 W.
Easiest way to get there is to take the road from the park office at Wild River State Park to the picnic grounds, then walk north on the Old Logging Trail, which is paved. Depending where you enter, you will pass one or two crossings with the Nevers Dam Trail, which goes east to the St. Croix River. Look east. You can see the bright pink witness post from the trail. If you get to the campground, you've walked too far north.
