Ash Springs is on BLM land just off US Route 93, about 2 hours north of Las Vegas, and is easily accessible via a short dirt road that leads to a parking area, bathroom facilities and the springs themselves. Surrounded by lush vegetation, amid a sea of dry grass and brush, Ash Springs appears as an oasis in the desert and is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
Next to the parking area is a built-up area that is perfect for soaking, and where the spring spills over into a natural shallow pond pleasantly shaded by huge, venerable cottonwood trees. The water temperature varies between 88-97 °F with a flow of 17-23 ft³/s, making this a 2nd magnitude spring.
Ash Springs is only 1.2 acres in size, so overnight camping is not allowed and signs state that visitors are only allowed to stay two hours to ensure everyone gets to enjoy the spring waters.
Ash Springs is also home to an endangered subspecies of the White River Springfish (Crenichthys baileyi baileyi)that is found only in Ash Springs.
