CZ: Pocátky jeho historie sahají do 11. století, kdy byl v místech dnešního zámku po roce 1041 vybudován pohranicní hrad. V roce 1534 panství koupili bratri ze Žerotína, za nichž byl starý hrad prestaven v renesancní zámek.
Dnešní podobu dostal zámek na pocátku 19. století, kdy Lichtenštejnové budovali Lednicko - valtický areál. V roce 1945 se stal zámek majetkem ceskoslovenského státu, v dnešní dobe je ve správe mesta. Znacne zchátralý objekt v soucasnosti prochází rozsáhlou rekonstrukcí.
Nyní prístupný pouze ve dnech otevrených dverí.
EN: The beginnings of its history go back to the 11th century when a border fort was built in the place of today´s castle after the year 1041. In 1534 the Žerotin brothers bought the domain and converted the old castle into a Renaissance castle.
The castle got its modern appearance at the beginning of the 19th century, when the Liechtensteins created the Lednice-Valtice Area. In 1945 the chateau became the property of the Czechoslovak state. Today it is administered by the town. At the moment the rather derelict building is being reconstructed.
Access possible only during the days of open doors organized by the Breclav municipality.
