CS:

• Zámek je jednou z hlavních pametihodností Horní Cerekve, malého mesta ležícího u reky Jihlavy na Ceskomoravské vrchovine. V soucasnosti není prístupný verejnosti.

• Zámek je trojkrídlá dvoupatrová stavba se zazdenými arkádami. Až do devatenáctého století byla ze všech stan obklopena rybníky a vodním príkopem podobne, jako zámky v Blatné nebo v Cervené Lhote.

• Do zámku se vstupovalo po kamenném mostku, který ústil na nádvorí. Další vchod se nacházel u padacího mostu ve východním krídle zámku. Tento vchod je dodnes patrný.

• Soucasný zámek byl vystaven na míste vodní tvrze ze 14. století.V sedmnáctém století Albrech Šebestián z Leskovce prestavel tvrz na renesancní zámek.
  Renesancní podoba zámku nemela dlouhé trvání. Následující vlastník, hrabe a budoucí pražský arcibiskup František Ferdinand z Kuenburgu, nechal sídlo barokne prestavet.

• V první polovine 18. století byl zámek postoupen do rukou hrabete Maxmiliána z Regalu, který provádí poslední velké stavební úpravy. Roku 1734 tak panské sídlo získává svou soucasnou podobu.

• V roce 1842 koupil Cerekvické panství kníže Karel Antonín Friedrich Menrad z Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, príslušník vedlejší vetve pruského panovnického rodu. Ve vlastnictví Hohenzollernu zustala Cerekev až do konce druhé svetové války. V roce 1945 byl zámek konfiskován a predán do majetku obce. Ta jej chtela využít jako radnici a kulturní dum, ale nakonec byl zámek prestaven na cinžovní dum. Došlo pri tom k narušení rady architektonických prvku a znehodnocení interiéru.

• Nedostatecná údržba vedla v osmdesátých letech k chátrání zámeckých budov. Obnovy se zámek dockal až po roce 1994. V tomto roce jej koupili manželé Prenosilovi ze Švýcarska, kterí zámek chteli prestavet na sanatorium. Zemreli však dríve, než mohli své plány uskutecnit. Jejich dedicové o zámek nejeví zájem a cástecne zrenovované sídlo je tak na prodej. 

• Nejvážnejší zájemce o budovu chce zámek využít jako galerii, a tak snad v budoucnu bude verejnost moci nahlédnout i do zatím neprístupných zámeckých komnat.

• The château is one of the main sights of Horni Cerekev, a small town situated on the river Jihlava in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Today the château is inaccessible.

• Château is a three-wing and two-storey building with arcades on the courtyard side. Until the nineteenth century buildings were surrounded by a watter-moat and ponds on all sides.

• The castle had two entrances - first by a stone bridge leads to the courtyard, a second entrance was located near the drawbridge in the east wing of the castle. This entrance is still visible.

• The present château was built at the site of the water fortress from the 14th century. In the seventeenth century Sebastian Albrecht of Leskovec rebuilt the fortress into a Renaissance château. The following owner, earl (and also the future archbishop) Franz Ferdinand of Kuenburg, rebuilt the château in Baroque style.

• In the first half of the 18th century the mansion was transferred into the hands of the count Maximilian of Regal. He performed the last major reconstruction. So in 1873 the château got its present form.

• In 1842, prince Karl Anton Friedrich Meinrad of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen bought the château. The mansion was in the possession of the family until the end of World War II. In 1945 the château was confiscated. Town of Horni Cerekev wanted to use the château as town hall and culture center but finally the château was converted into a block of flats. As a result, many architectural elements have been damaged and the interiors were destroyed.

• In the eightees Inadequate maintenance resulted in dilapidation of the buildings. Renovation of the castle began in 1994. The new owners, a married couple from Switzerland, wanted to use château as a sanatorium but died before his plans could be completed.

• Today the château is for sale. The most serious candidate wants to use château as a gallery.
