Mount Hermon Chapel was at one time painted white, an important landmark for the ships that once sailed on the Loughor Estuary. The chapel was built in 1807 the locals say on 'land used by children avoiding Sunday worship'.
It is said that the graveyard was on this spot long before the chapel.
The chapel, also used as a day school, has now fallen into disrepair. It's still worth a visit, however, for the atmosphere of its ancient cemetery, its isolated, elevated setting and its amazing views over the North Gower, and Loughor Estuary
There is a car park immediately opposite the chapel at the summit of the hill.
