This amazing park overlooks the Gorge in Niagara Falls. It is called the Niagara Totem Pole & Wood-Carving Park. This park is an all season park that opened in June 2006. It holds 600 hand-carved totem poles, and is known to be North America's largest collection of one-of-a-kind totem poles.
The owner and carver himself is usually on site, Frank Kim, and gives demonstrations several days a week. He spent quite a bit of time with me and my family when I visited and explained a lot about his carvings. He carves everything including Dora, Spiderman, soldiers and animals.
Please note that parking is free, but there is a charge to enter the park.
The trees used are collected from those that have fallen or died in Niagara Parks, while others have been bought from local Mennonite communities.
