For 25 years in the early 20th century, the Carnation Condensery smokestack stood as a symbol of a thriving condensed milk industry, producing millions of tins. Though the plant and the railway that once served it — Bellingham Bay and British Columbia Railway — are long gone, the smokestack remains a prominent feature of the Everson skyline.
