The first Starbucks opened in 1971 and it still is today.
At that time the company consisted of a single store located in historic Pike Place Market in Seattle. Since its narrow storefront, the Starbucks already offers some of the finest coffees in the world, freshly roasted and brewed from the finest grains. The name "Starbucks" is inspired by Moby-Dick, who evokes the romance of the high seas and the seafaring tradition of early coffee traders.
In 1981, Howard Schultz (CEO of Starbucks) has set foot for the first time in a Starbucks. From his first cup of Sumatra, Howard was attracted to Starbucks. He joined the company the following year.
From the beginning of the adventure, Starbucks differed from other companies. She had not only coffee and celebrate its rich tradition, but also establish a sense of attachment.
Now, Starbucks has become a company with more than 15,000 locations in over 50 countries, and describes itself as the largest retailer and roaster of specialty coffee brand in the world. Today, with every cup, we strive to live our legacy and the exceptional experience of Starbucks.
