"Die Krimmler Wasserfälle sind mit einer gesamten Fallhöhe von 385 m die höchsten Wasserfälle Österreichs. Sie liegen am Rand des Ortes Krimml (Salzburg), im Nationalpark Hohe Tauern nahe der Grenze zu Italien. Gebildet werden sie durch die Krimmler Ache, die am Ende des hoch gelegenen Krimmler Achentals in drei Fallstufen hinunterstürzt. Der Fluss fließt dann in die Salzach, die den Pinzgau entlang weiter Richtung Salzburg und zur Mündung in den Inn fließt." - Quelle: Wikipedia
