The Calvary Catholic Cemetery is located on the southeast corner of 91st Street and South Harvard. Entrances are located on both streets. The land is gently rolling, beautifully landscaped, with winding paved roadways throughout. Many trees and shrubs make this a lovely area.
The cemetery was established in 1910 as the Holy Family Cemetery, and relocated to this spot in the 1920s. There are numerous religious statues, and an especially beautiful area with marble plaques and a circular pavilion for cremations. At the center, a bronze sculpture of a kneeling Christ is breathtaking.
The cemetery is maintained under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulsa and currently has 4270 internments. A unique area with similar headstones is the final resting place of numerous Catholic nuns. Each marker has the word "SISTER" on its curved top.
