This cemetery is divided into two sections. One on the north side of the road and the other portion is on the south side of the road next to the Catholic cemetery.
This portion is the larger one with about 500 graves in it. The other portion has about 200.
Wessington is located in western Beadle County, South Dakota, and has a population of 226, as of July 2008. It has dropped in population of about 9% from the 2000 census.
It was incorporated on April 24, 1915, and was settled by German, English, Irish, Norwegian, and Dutch ancestries.
