The Barton Family plot occupies a prominent location in the Woodlawn Cemetery. A 15' high zinc headstone sits on the high point of a small knoll. The family marker is surrounded by individual headstones two of which are made of zinc.

The family marker is a square tower with a partially draped urn at the apex. On each side is the number 1240 near the top and the date 1887 above the name at the bottom. The front has the name BARTON M. DOUGLAS below a plaque depicting a thistle. To the right is SIMON DOUGLAS below a plaque showing a book. On the back is ORVILLE DOUGLAS below a plaque with an anchor. To the left is GEORGE A. DOUGLAS below a plaque with a sheaf of wheat.

One of the small zinc headstones is inscribed:
