LLANDAFF AND LLANDAFF CATHEDRAL SCHOOL - A World War one memorial later modified to a combined War memorial.
The centre stone on which the figures stand appears to have been turned round and re-engraved to include the First and Second World wars.
"1914 - 1918 War Memorial, erected in 1924 in the centre of the north end of the Cathedral Green. Llandaff. The monument consists of three standing bronze figures on three separate granite plinths, two soldiers with a female figure in the centre. The sculptor was W. Goscombe John RA, and the plinths were designed by J. P. Grant.
The memorial consists of a central robed female figure, which represents Llandaff, sending forth on one side of her, a workman - representing the village - and on the other side, a cadet - representing the school - both carry rifles". Text source: (
