This legend tells about a young brave who hears his name called out. It was his sweetheart calling, he new he was many suns away, puzzled he calls out "Who Calls" and a spirit voice mimicked "Who Calls?' So he fled home only to find out his love one had died, with her last breath she called his name.
The valley has been called Qu'Appelle or Calling River Valley.
