St. Anne Shrine is a sanctuary is located within the Diocese of Worcester and is staffed by the Augustinians of the Assumption. In a large park-like setting consisting of 35 acres of rolling hills and woodlands there are numerous buildings, statues and shrines.
The labyrinth is located at the northwest end of the main parking lot. A sign next to the labyrinth provides the history of labyrinths and instructions. It reads:
"A labyrinth is a spiritual tool used around the world since ancient times. Its design is sacred geometry whose pattern has meaning and well defined pathways that winds its way to the center and back out again. Prayerfully walking the labyrinth can be a means to quiet the mind, open the heart and bring new clarity. It is a simple and quiet way to become connected with your inner self. As such there is no "right" or "wrong" way to walk the labyrinth; there is simply your way, your pace. Try to calm and center yourself, enter the labyrinth, and follow the path.; when you reach the center you may wish to linger there awhile, then retrace your steps until you come back out again. we welcome you to this holy place and we wish you much joy and peace on your journey."
