Die Grundsteinlegung der ersten "kleinen" Kirche in Trappenkamp wurde am 19.März 1957 gelegt und am 17.Juni 1957 von Dechant Msgr. Hermes benediziert.
Doch schon bald erwies sich das Gebäude als zu klein, so daß ab September 1962 zu den ersten Kollekten für den Erweiterungsbau aufgerufen wurde. Bei der Kostenkalkulation stellte sich dann heraus, dass Abbruch und völliger Neubau finanziell günstiger ausfallen würden als eine Erweiterung des alten Gebäudes. Nicht ohne Wehmut entschied man sich für den Abriss des erst acht Jahre alten Hauses und errichtete an selbiger Stelle nur in größerer Form und einem zusätzlichen Pfarrheim die neue "St. Josef - Kirche".
Die Grundsteinlegung der neuen Kirche und des Pfarrheims erfolgte am 23.Mai 1965, die Benediction am 21.November 1965 und die Konsekration durch Herrn Bishof Dr. Helmut Hermann Wittler am 15. September 1966.

The foundation stone of the first "small" church in Trappenkamp was laid on March 19, 1957 and on June 17, 1957 by Dean benediziert Msgr Hermes.
But soon, the building proved too small, so that was called in September 1962 to the first collections for the extension. Improve costing, it turned out that demolition and complete reconstruction would fail financially cheaper than an extension of the old building. Not without melancholy opted for the demolition of only eight years old house and was built to the same place only in larger form and an additional Pfarrheim the new "St. Joseph - Church".
The foundation stone of the new church and the parish's home took place on May 23, 1965, the Benediction on November 21, 1965 and the consecration by Mr. Bishop Hermann Helmut Wittler on 15 September 1966.
