This striking brownstone structure was built in 1902 with a $75,000 gift from Andrew Carnegie; it operated as a library until a new facility was constructed near the depot in 1980. It is said that in the 1920’s a “bookmobile” offered home delivery of books to immigrants and housebound patrons. This building now houses law offices and a variety of counseling services. It is easily spotted at 101 W. 2nd Street.
