The gorgeous Richardsonian Romanesque Mitchell County Courthouse in downtown Beloit KS is a community treasure, well into its second century of service to this county.
It is made of Post rock limestone, which is a common building material here. Pioneers used the post rock limestone to make fence posts, since trees were scarce.
