The Stroop Effect, DNA fingerprinting, G-Force. These are only three of the countless subjects one can learn about at the Ontario Science Center in North York, Ontario. Opened in 1969 as Ontario's contribution to the confederation's centennial celebration, the science center turned 30 in 1999. The Ontario Science Center is a science museum housing original science exhibits and exhibitions designed and produced by the center's staff, of which there are approximately 260 full time employee
The Ontario Science Center was the world's first interactive science museum. Because a supply of exhibits was not available at that time from any other source the museum opened its own manufacturing plant where its interactive exhibits could be built.
"Anything we want we can build here," Troop proudly stated of the museum's 30,000 square feet of high-tech manufacturing capacity. Troop identified this as being the science center's biggest competitive advantage and their leap into international sales came as a direct result of this capability.

The object is to make the exercises as real and challenging as possible -- to take the pilots, ground crews, mechanics, rescue personnel, etc., to the limits of what they can handle.
