Kookai, so I am advised, is a high end ladies fashion shop that used to occupy these premises but has now gone. All that remains is the name "Kookai" over the top of the clock.
The clock hangs over the street and is attached with an elaborate cast iron bracket. There is an attachment, over the top of the clock, that also has somm wrought ironwork and the name "Kookai" on a white background.
The clock has two identical faces. The face is round and has a white back. The face has three gold rings upon it. The outer two rings are close to the edge of the face and contain the minute marks between them. The inner ring and middle ring have the hour marks between them. The hour marks are Roman numerals using "IIII" instead of "IV" for four. Both the hour and minute marks are black in colour. The hour and minute hands are also coloured black.
