This bell appears to be a cast-iron bell but is missing the typical "1889 & 1906 - El Camino Real" inscription found on the Caltrans bells.

The Dana Adobe was the home of Boston sea Captain William Dana who was granted the Rancho Nipomo in 1837. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and is California Registered Landmark #1033.
