This carved log of an alligator represent the school mascot for San Francisco State University. SFSU teams are known as the “Golden Gators”.

This carved log resides within the campus of
SFSU. At one end, a mouth is carved out and at the other end, an alligator tail. Along the length of the log is a ridged carving that looks like the ridges of an alligators back. Four small round tree trunks were added on the sides to look like the gator’s feet.
