From the intersection with northbound US97 in Madras, travel E on SE J Street for about 1.0 mile. Turn right onto SE Grizzly Road and continue generally SSE for 1.0 mile. Bear right onto SE McTaggart Road and continue SSE for 1.4 miles. Turn left onto SE Dover Lane and continue 0.3 miles ESE to the bench mark, which is 4.3' N of a railroad tie post at the NE fence corner.

The bench mark, elevation 2503.924 feet, was set in 1938 during the construction of the Bureau of Reclamation Deschutes Project. Today, the canals and reservoirs of this project are operated by the North Unit Irrigation District.
