The City of Pittsburgh was incorporated in 1816 when the population was 9,000. In 1857 an ordinance was adopted that established the police department for Pittsburgh to consist of one chief and not more than nine constables. Today, the Bureau of Police is comprised of approximately 900 sworn law enforcement officers who proudly serve the residents and visitors of Pittsburgh.
The Zone #4 Police station covers Neighborhoods North of the Monongahela River from Oakland east to the City Limits as well as the neighborhoods south of the Monongahela of Hays, Lincoln Place, and New Homestead.

I have had NO problems with taking photos of Police stations but please respect the fact that some services may be nervous about having their photo taken and inquire as to why... I have found that once things are explained they are more than happy to let me photograph the building, crest, chief... (they are people too!)
