The river Dill is a 55km long tributary of the river Lahn and forms the eastern border of the Westerwald in the transition to the Upper Hessen Lahn-Dill-Bergland. Its origin lies about 2km north of the village Offdilln on the southeast slope of Haincher Höhe
The easiest way to reach the "Dill-Quelle" is to park your car at "Offdillner Bahnhof" (N50° 50.843' E8° 14.471'), near the road to Hainchen. Take a hike to the west through the forest from there. The trails are marked. After about 2 kilometers you will reach the place where the river Dill starts. It is not very impressive, but probably most rivers are like that when they come to live. You can sit in a small shelter and take rest, before you retrace your steps. Have fun!
