This small elevator is along Main Street in Charlo, which is about 4 miles west on Highway 212 from Highway 93 in Lake County.

This elevator was never owned by a grain buyer, as were elevators which are found along railroads, but has always been part of a feed and seed outlet. There have been irrigated farms in this area since at least 1910, and a service such as this has likely been on the scene since that time. We can't say how old this small elevator is, though it's probably not as old as the farming community.
This elevator actually has two heads, with a second, smaller one hiding in behind, on the west side of the larger one. It is owned and operated by Westland Seed Inc. and is used to store seed grains and animal feeds.
