The Antioch Baptist Church was organized as the first established Baptist Church in St. Kitts-Nevis on Tuesday, 5 March, 1963 by Rev. William Connor O.B.E and 21 born-again believers. The first meeting place was the Unity Friendly Society Hall on Wigley Avenue, Haynes Smith Village, Basseterre.
The Church built its current place of worship in 1966. In 1986, the church acquired property adjacent to the existing facility at the time and constructed a Family Life Centre which serves as an extension to the sanctuary.
The founding pastor went home to be with the Lord on November 11th, 1990. Pastor Kelvin Jones, a pioneering member of the Baptist Movement in St. Kitts and at the time was serving as pastor of the Mt Carmel Baptist Church, was called as the pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church and served simultaneously as pastor of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Pastor Lincoln Connor was ordained and installed as the third pastor of Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday 26 May 2002. Pastor Connor is a graduate of Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia and Dallas Theological Seminary. He serves as senior pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church and is supported by an enthusiastic staff.
Under Pastor Lincoln’s leadership, the church has introduced several new ministries, strengthened the leadership structure and developed a focus on discipleship and community.
Following much prayer the church is in the process of constructing a new sanctuary for the continuation of the legacy and the championing of God’s cause. (
