The Manavgat Selalesi (Manavgat Waterfall) on the Manavgat River, 3 km (2 mi) north of Manavgat, flow over a wide area as it falls from a low height. Although the waterfall is not very high (almost 3 meters), it is well worth seeing how the white, foaming water of the Manavgat River flows powerfully over the rocks. During floods, the Manavgat Falls may partly disappear under high water.
The waterfall was depicted on the reverse of the Turkish 5 lira banknotes, series of 1968-1983.
