New Brunswick highway web cameras are operated by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. The cameras are part of the Department’s Road Weather Information System. Most are mounted on tall steel towers, pretty much all of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed. The province has right around 50 web cameras, covering all the major routes in the province.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 15 to 30 minutes, depending on conditions.
Just a few hundred metres south of an overpass, this camera looks north up Highway 7 from the east side. The overpass carries Highway 7 over Highway 101 and a small stream, Douglas Valley Brook. Highway 101 leads east into the tiny community of Welsford, while Highway 7 continues on its way north toward Fredericton.
