The Bennett-Bean Bridge is an unexpected surprise to travelers driving along Route 16 in western Maine near the New Hampshire state line. The bridge spans the Magalloway River, and was built in 1898 (or 1901, according to one Web source). It has been closed to vehicle traffic since 1985, but pedestrian traffic is welcome.
The bridge has a 93-foot span. Parking is available on the south end of the bridge.
